The TFS Spicatum Project 2010 gives you the opportunity to grow your own Australian Sandalwood, a wood with strong demand and established markets.
Furthermore you can supplement this long term investment with regular Royalty Payments (starting year 6 of the project) from TFS in acknowledgement that you forego ownership of the Seeds of the Australian Sandalwood tree.
The price paid for Australian Sandalwood is closely paralleled to the price of Indian Sandalwood, the price of which has continued to increase at a compounded rate of 21% over the last 16 years. Prices for some classifications of Australian Sandalwood in 2010 have increased by as much as 24% from 2009 prices. The price of large green logs increased from US$9,820 to US$12,250 per tonne whilst dead pieces rose 17.5% from US$9,190 to US$10,800 per tonne.
* Whilst there is no annual fees, growers will forego up to 20% of Gross Net Harvest Proceeds at the end of the project to cover the Rent, Selling and Marketing Fee and the Project Treefarming Contractor’s Incentive Fee.
