Community Development

Through sponsorships ranging from local athletics to cultural dance events and regional festivals, TFS plays an active role in the diverse Kununurra community.

TFS employs a large number of people from Kununurra and the Kimberley region.  Through employment and training programs the company continues to deliver significant economic benefits to the region, and helps to enrich the local community with skills and expertise.  

Aboriginal Initiatives

About half of the Kimberley population is of Aboriginal descent (Australia’s indigenous people). 

TFS is a proud sponsor of the Clontarf Foundation, a progressive program designed to promote education and self-esteem in the Aboriginal community.  The program aims to encourage schooling, good health and aspirations amongst Aboriginal children by engaging them in the team sport known as Australian football.   

Only a low proportion of the Kimberley's indigenous population is currently involved in the mainstream workforce. TFS currently employs a number of Aborigines in its workforce and is committed to providing work experience and employment to Aborigines in the Kimberley.  As part of this initiative TFS aims to lift employment to over 50% Aboriginal workers on its Kingston Rest property by 2016.
